1. Hired a rock star for my first hire as an entrepreneur

One of the most valuable lessons I learned from my last real job was how to hire top notch talent.  My boss had me read Hire With Your Head by Lou Adler and I was lucky enough to be a part of hiring a number of people for our software development team.

This skill carried over for me when I re-opened my computer repair business, CGE Computers in late 2014.  With 50+ applicants from a craigslist post, I found Michael Rey, who after some rigorous interviews I had high confidence would do a great job for me.  He earned our 5 star Google and Yelp reviews.

2. Dialed in effective marketing in a highly saturated market

After bringing on Michael Rey, I had to drum up some business.  Fast.  Which wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be with so many competitors in my area. It took some major trial and error, but I hustled and got Google Ads dialed in for the business so that every dollar spent brought in $4 in revenue.

3. Helped grow a business by over 4 times, taking it from 6 to 7 figures

Between March of 2016 and March of 2017, I helped an Amazon seller go from $13,000 a month in sales to seeing their first $100,000 month in December of 2016.  I did this through optimizing Amazon’s Pay Per Click system and by earning a bunch of 5 star product reviews by giving top notch customer service for the business.  The company was at $63,000 in sales for March 2017, meaning a 384% growth year over year.  I did that in only 210 hours of work!
